My "American Idol" Experience
Hello everyone!! I hope all is well. Yesterday I went to the finale of "American Idol". Here's what happened:
I got up at 6:00am and got ready. My Dad offered to drive me to Universal after he took my sister to school at 7:30am. We got there at 8:00am. I said goodbye and made my way to the Universal Ampitheatre box office. A small group of people were already there. I was tenth in line. Over the next five hours, I talked with the people with me, who were *Clay* fans so that was fun. The time went by fast with them to talk to. I helped one girl with her poster. Finally it was 1:00pm and time to get the tickets. The ticket you got was at random, whatever the ticket machine gave you. I was not very lucky. I got MEZ 24, Row G, which is the the top, the very last row. I was just about to go home when a friend I had made while in line told me to get another voucher and try again. So, I did and I got LOG 21 Row S Seat 106. Not bad!! That was around 2:00pm, still 3 hours until showtime. I decided to get something to eat. I had a cheesburger at a restaurant at CityWalk calle The Daily Grill. I ate really slowly to pass the time. It was very good food. After that, i went to the Universal Ampitheatre entrance and just as I got there, they opened the doors. It was sooooooooo hot!! We had to go through two metal detectors. Oh, Ruben's dad and grandfather were in front of me. It felt so good to be in the air-conditioning when we were let in. I went to my new seat and found it to be acceptable, not great, but I was ok with it. After I did that, I decided to go upstairs to the seat I would have had. It wasn't too bad either because the venue is so small. I went back downstairs to my seat and soon discovered that I was in a row of Ruben fans. Woops hehe. They were nice to me though. Doors closed at 4:30pm and I had been watching the rows around me to find a better seat. I found it and it was great, I was in the center at the bottom of the LOG. I stayed there from 5:00-6:00, then these people came with an usher and were like, "Oh, these are our seats.". It was an hour into the show!! That made me so mad. I moved back to my original seat. It was so amazing to hear Clay perform live. Kimberly Locke blew me away as well. Suddenly, the moment of truth had come. As soon as Ryan said, "Ruben" I stormed out. I thought I would be crying, but I was MAD!! Just thinking about it still makes me angry. In all honesty, CLAY HAD THE BETTER VOICE...PERIOD!! I've moved from mad to sad, but I'll be ok. I know Clay will be too.
At least we can still look forward to Clay's album. Let's make it Number 1!!
By the way, Clay's first single, "This is the Night"/On the Wings of Love" is out this TUESDAY.
Love,
Amanda
