A Late Night Post
Hi everyone!! I'm up, so I might as well do some posting. I'll tell you about the John Williams concert and how school's been going.
A Musical Genius
On August 29, 2003, I went to my first John Williams concert at the Hollywood Bowl and I could not have been more impressed!! As a result of being friends with both Michael and Kyle, over the years I have come to like film music. John Williams is the composer of numerous films including two of my favorites: The "Harry Potter" films and "Star Wars" films. The evening flew by. It opened with a medley of popular themes from films over the last 20 years. The lights on the stage were gorgeous. Everyone was respectful and quietly listened, a sharp contrast to the Hanson concert the previous night. Next, 3 songs from "Catch Me if You Can". At last it was time for the "Harry Potter" suite. There were 5 songs, including my favorite, "Fauke's Theme". Intermission was after. The "Star Wars" grand suite followed. It was very well done! James Earl Jones narrated the stories that went with each song played, giving the music a special touch. The encores were "Superman", "Indiana Jones" and another song I don't remember the title to. It was memorable evening I will never forget.
School Days
I've been back at CSUN for a month and everything has been good so far. My Art 200 class is great. At first, I thought I wouldn't like it, but in recent classes, I've come to really enjoy it. We are learning about the program, Photoshop, right now. One of my best friends, Jennifer, is in the class with me so that's cool. My professor is *so* wonderful. I had him my first semester for Drawing I. He is very concerned with his students' progress. He never talks down or makes you feel stupid when asking for help. He is very calm and his laid back approach puts everyone at ease. I am very grateful to be his student again. My RS 100 course has been a challenge. The professor has a very thick Japanese accent so understanding him can be difficult. I have learned a new form a concentration from being in that class. I'm just going to do the best I can and hope that everything works out in the end hehe. My Psychology 150 class is good. My professor is sweet and somehow I became her best friend hehe. The class takes advantage of her sometimes because she can be distracted easily. Michael and Kyle are in the class with me. We sit in the back corner with 4 other guys whom I find humorous at times. Most of the time they're just silly boys, but there are times when I'll giggle. Now onto Math 102. Ah, yes, him LOL This crush is getting way out of control. I dunno, it seems my professor got even cuter over the summer. Don't worry, I'm not gonna pursue anything with him LOL The class itself is a bit difficult, but I'll manage. He's an excellent professor and I'm going to go to his Office Hours on Tuesday for a little extra help.
