Spring Break Recap
This will be a long post. You have been warned!! :)
My Spring Break started with a Dodger game with my Dad on April 2. I met the wonderful, amazing, talented, cute, Shawn Green again. Woo hoo, go me!! hehe It was just like last year (See the March 2003 Archive). I got there early with my Dad, I found my place to stand and about 5 minutes to 7:00, Shawn made his way over to the fans. He came to me first. He loves me LOL. He signed my picture, I shook his hand, and that was it. Short, but great. :)
On April 3, I went to the Getty with Jennifer and Victor. We have a paper to write in Art History. It was a nice way to spend a Saturday. We looked in all the buildings and saw some beautiful works. After that we had lunch. Expensive, but yummy. Hey, you gotta splurge every once in a while. Jennifer came over after and we watched "Get Over It", a Kirsten Dunst classic. It's a really funny comedy with her, Ben Foster, Colin Hanks, Sisqo (What ever happened to him anyway?), and Mila Kunis. Love that movie. Later, we went to see "Hellboy" with Michael and his little bother Chris. It was surprisingly good. I thought it would be all action sequences and no story, but I was wrong. I actually enjoyed it.
On April 5, I started my day with breakfast at IHOP with Michael. It was a nice morning. Got a chance to chat and hang out a bit because I was leaving the next day for San Diego. The rest of the day I got packed and ready for my trip. I made some CDs for the train, one an AFI CD with my favorite AFI songs. Only 8 so far. I still have a lot that I haven't heard. They are (in no order): "Silver and Cold", "This Secret Ninja", "The Last Kiss", "The Despair Factor", "This Time Imperfect", "The Prayer Position", "The Great Disappointment", and "A Winter's Tale".
On April 6-8 I was in San Diego at Jennifer's lovely home. We took the train together. We had a whole car to ourselves for the first train. Oh yeah, I got $5 in golden dollar coins. Quite funny and quite odd too hehe The first night, I got acquainted with Jennifer's wonderful family and her cute puppy, Teddy. The next day, Jennifer's mom dropped us off at the Wild Animal Park. It was fun. I hadn't been there in 5 years, so I didn't really remember much except for the tram ride. When we saw that the wait was an hour, we decided to walk around and come back later. We saw cute baby duckies go down mini waterfalls. They were adorable. One in particular was just doing his/her own thing, swimming away from the mother duck and the two other babies. He/she almost went down a larger waterfall, kind of a scary moment. When we got to the cheetah exhibit, Jennifer mentioned that you almost never see it. We got lucky. We saw the cheetah. We were in the perfect spot. The cheetah was right in front of us when the trainer came to feed it. That was probabaly my favorite part of the day. I bought a keychain and a gift for Michael and our time at the Wild Animal Park was over. After, we went to a mall called, North County Fair. When I first heard the name, I thought there was a carnival in town hehe. On the bus to the mall, we saw a cute little girl who was smiling and laughing the whole time. It's a fantastic mall, by the way. I bought an AFI shirt at Hot Topic and a gift for Kyle. We went home after the mall, had dinner (Jennifer's mom is a great cook!!), and watched some TV. The next day was my last day. Jennifer's boyfriend, Tom, came over and I go to meet him. He loved my Spider-Man keychain. We all went to lunch and then they dropped me off at the train station. Tom is very sweet and he and Jennifer are *adorable* together!! I loved my trip to San Diego.
On April 9, I went to Michael's. We went to dinner at Islands with his family and later on rented movies. We watched a movie called, "Pumpkin", starring Christina Ricci. I thought it was so cute and definitely recommend it. Read more about the movie here.
Hank Harris, as Pumpkin and Christina Ricci as Carolyn McDuffy:
On April 10, I saw "Shaolin Soccer" with Michael, Kyle, and Chris at the Arclight Theater in Hollywood. What an incredible theater!! Be prepared if you go, the matinee price is $11 and the regular price is $14. A nice theater to go to every once in a while. hehe
Yesterday was Easter. Nothing really out of the ordinary, but nice all the same.
Hope you liked this recap!!
