Shawn Green gets a Grand Slam and My Summer Reading List
Last night Shawn Green hit a grand slam homerun in the 8th Inning against the Arizona Diamondbacks at BankOne ballpark in Phoenix, Arizona. The homer, Shawn's 7th career grand slam, was just what the Dodgers needed to pull ahead and win the game. I was so proud of "my Shawn". hehe Love ya, babe. :)
So, last summer I read the latest "Harry Potter" book. This summer I have three books lined up, ready and waiting. Here they are:
- Girl Interrupted by Susanna Kaysen
- A Walk to Remember by Nicholas Sparks
- The Luckiest Girl in the World by Steven Levenkron
I finished Girl Interrupted and just loved it. I'll probably be reading it again. I rented the movie and while it was different from the book in a few ways, it was still very well done. A Walk to Remember was adapted into the successful film starring Mandy Moore and Shane West. I love the movie and have been wanting to read the book for quite some time. The Luckiest Girl in the World was adapted into the Lifetime movie, "Painful Secrets" which aired earlier this summer. I thought it was very insightful and emotional and look forward to reading the book that inspired it. So, that's all for now. I'll write again soon. :) Love,
Amanda
