The Dodgers Win the Pennant!!
Wow!! What an amazing 4 days. My Dad and I went to 4 Dodger games in a row starting last Thursday night. Saturday was the best game I ever saw. My Dad and I didn't have tickets for the sold out game, but we knew we couldn't just sit at home and watch the Dodgers go for the NL West Division Championship--we *had to* be there!! We got to the Stadium at around 12:30, bypassed the scalper, and decided to try our luck at the ticket window. While my Dad was trying to get us tickets, I looked around for any fans looking to sell theirs. When I turned back to my Dad, he was holding two tickets in his hand!! I ran over. I was sooo happy!! That was a great start. Unfortunately, the feeling did not last. The Dodgers were down 0-3 by the 9th inning and I feared we would have to go through the torture of another night and another game before winning the title. I silently prayed and just kept praying as the Dodgers came up one by one in the 9th. Prayers *do* get answered!! Shawn Green started the inning with a single, eventually bringing in the Dodgers first run of the game. It all fell into place after that, ending in a grand slam homerun by veteran,Steve Finley bringing the score to 7-3, Dodgers. The final score was special to me because 7-3 is my birthday (July 3rd). At that moment I was so happy, so overwhelmed, that tears just started falling. It was a game that will never fade from my memory. A day that I will always be thankful for that I got to spend with my Dad.

Love,
Amanda
